Justice for the Miami Five

Thursday, 30 October 2008

In 1998, five Cuban men were jailed for trying to stop US-based terrorist attacks against their country - two have not seen their families since.

Who are the Miami Five?

The Miami Five are Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, five Cubans falsely accused and jailed by the US government of committing espionage against the United States.

On top of severe sentences ranging from 15 years to double life, the five are denied regular family visits.  Two of the prisoners' wives have never been granted a visa to enter the States and have not seen their husbands for eight and 10 years.
