BRANCH ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT 2006

2006 has been a very eventful year, beginning with organising the move from Moorgate House to Lawrence House.  We moved into our new premises in April 2006 and although we did have a few teething problems, we are now well established and feel like Lawrence House has always been our home. The Branch has dealt with some important issues affecting our members, some of which are still ongoing and we have seen our Stewards and Officers stretched both mentally and physically.  Our Stewards give their time and effort voluntary and work very hard representing our members as well as holding down their own jobs.   We have also experienced change in the Office.  Jo Abrahamsen has now reduced her hours and only works three days and we have a new member of staff, Angela Parfrey, who works the other two days.  Angela used to work in the UNISON Sheffield Regional Office before it closed in 2005 and brings a wealth of experience with her.  As from January 2005, Glenys Twigg also reduced her hours and now also works three days. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Angela, Glenys and Jo for their invaluable help and assistance this year.  Both Angela and Jo keep the secretarial side running as smooth as clock work and Glenys is The Oracle of the Office. The backbone of UNISON is its members and as a Union we value our membership.  We hope that we can continue to deliver a good service in 2007 to all of our members. Lynda DyeBranch Administrator
